Pumpkin Carvin' Time!

Uncle George Martino Visits

Mid October, Dolan's Great Uncle George Martino came to Lancaster with his daughter Ann for dinner. We had a great time. Dolan's parents were visiting at the time so we were able to have small family reunion. George is a very talented artist and he provided me with an auction donation for the Night On the Town Gala at Lancaster Country Club. It is an oil painting of a winter scene. We love you George and family and so happy that you came for a visit.

Labor Day With Family

Labor Day was spent at our house with Uncle Dave, Aunt Suz, Kate, and Meghan. We had a fun cook out, but were annoyed by yellow jackets. Drewby got stung on the top of the foot while sliding. Dolan flipped the scooter while trying to race Ben down the hill - no pics of that. We were all too worried he had broken something, but he was fine, just a little embarrassed! Meghan and Kate were so sweet to have around. Kate ate a WHOLE PINT of blueberries BY HERSELF! Meghan and I spent cuddly time together. Kate and I read together. The boys enjoyed seeing their cousins and having wrestling time with Uncle Dave. Enjoy the pics below.

Scotland and Matthew's First Day of School!

The end of August was quite eventful. Mom and Dad flew up from Alabama to be with us while Dolan flew to Scotland to meet his Mom and Dad and play St. Andrew's. While my Dad was here visiting, he painted, painted, painted! Thanks Dad. Mom kept our clothes washed and household chores up to par. Thanks Mom for all of your help. Below are some pictures of our family . . . two of whom reached very important personal milestones - one started school and one played the world's oldest golf course.
Pawpaw took our picture before leaving for school! We arrive !
"Okay Mom . . . enough pictures!"
Matthew's Principal allowed us parents to walk in and watch our children round the corner as they entered their classroom. This was a very unexpected surprise for them and I really appreciated the sweet experience.
The first school day is over!
Matthew made it!

Matthew's Kindergarten Open House

Matthew had his Kindergarten Open House where he went and met his teacher, found his classroom, and took a school bus ride before the first day of school. He wanted to bring his teacher flowers . . . a true gentleman just like his Dad!
He was so excited that he found his name!

Flight 93 Memorial

On our way home from Ligonier, we stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset, PA. If you have never been here I would encourage you to take time to visit this site. It truly is Holy Ground. It's hard to believe that 9/11 was so long ago, yet when I visited this Memorial it was as if it had just happened. We listened to a story of the victims in the little gray building. This is a temporary Memorial. Click here to see the future plans for the Flight 93 Memorial.
